Mightier Than the Sword
A documentary project by Vancouver’s Journeys to the Edge

The Entertainment Media Arts Society is pleased to announce a project partnership with Journeys to the Edge, headed by J2E Directors Roberta Staley and Tallulah Photography of Vancouver, British Columbia.

This summer, the J2E team is filming a documentary in Afghanistan titled 'Mightier Than the Sword' showcasing Afghanistan’s young emerging female filmmakers' and journalists' efforts to have their voices heard within an ultra-conservative society.

The main character is 20-year-old Mubareka Sahar Fetrat ('Sahar') of Kabul, a prolific documentarian, and outstanding example of Afghan youth deeply committed to helping nurture women’s equality.

'Mightier Than the Sword' will diary Sahar as she films another documentary this summer, in the busy, dusty streets of Kabul.

Sahar's impressive list of film credits, includes:
'Kabul Cards' which chronicles the  lives of three young Afghan girls in Kabul.

'Do Not Trust My Silence!' follows the story of Afghan women living with ubiquitous street harassment

J2E is seeking to raise a film development budget of $30,000.
